What does Wilco mean? and others

I know this means you will do what ATC instructed but why isn’t the instruction just repeated as it is when an aircraft is instructed to turn base etc?

Wilco = Will comply, meaning, we received what you said and were gonna do it.

It’s limited to certain applications though, so some things require a full read back instead of a simple “Wilco”.

I’m pretty sure it’s short for “will cooperate” or “will comply”. Either way, it means you have understood and will react according to the instructions.

Haha, thanks :)

Glad I could help!

for example, when ATC ask you exit rwy when you are in 70kt , you should send a"willco",and
continue to slow down until 35kt , then exit rwy.
