When the 787 was made for IF, back then Delta had put orders on the 787, but later changed it to the A350 that they currently operate. Since the 787 with Delta livery got added before they (Delta Airlines) changed their mind, that’s why we have the livery on the 787-8 in IF.

No, they’re not. Delta had inherited the order of the dreamliner via their merger with Northwest, but since has opted to cancel their 787 orders.
