What do you guys like to see in a virtual airline?

Hey IFC , I was thinking about how we currently have 82 or so virtual airlines! First I think that is amazing cause in a sense it creates lots diversity for pilots but what I have noticed is that all (or most) of these virtual airlines are pretty much the same in terms of how they operate and what features they offer as a whole. So I wanted to know what the community thought about how current VA’s are doing and for those of you that are part (or were part) of VA’s I would like to know how are (or were) they going and what are some big changes that you guys would like to see (please no small things that could be answered somewhere else). Also what would you guys possibly like to see in the future in terms of new or updated virtual airlines. No idea or suggestion is bad as long as it is ideal or appropriate it will be taken into consideration. Please leave your feedback below or shoot me (@CaptainLeo1) or (@Captain_KTM) a personal message if you have any questions or anything that involves an in depth conversation. Stay healthy guys! :)

I think that the concept of VA’s on IF is absolutely amazing! To get to simulate being a pilot and flying for a real airliner, getting to move up ranks and unlock new aircraft/routes is a spectacular and fun concept. I am currently a pilot for Southwest Virtual but I plan on joining more soon.

I totally agree, virtual airlines are truly great! Thats why i’m trying to gather feedback and suggestions as to what people think and what they would like to see in the future as virtual airlines grow.

As the VA president myself, I can share a look from a different side on it. First of all it is a great opportunity to try yourself at building strategies of development. It is likely a business game, where you have to make a platform, hire staff team, recruit pilots, create politics and l maintain a good relations with other VAs.

Thank you for your thought on it. Nice to get an opinion from someone who has started a VA.

Also as a VA CEO We do work hard to make the community great, operate efficiently and constantly make the VA better. It takes a great group of pilots and staff to make the train run, but in the end, you get closer with other pilots.

Thank you for your input. I do not think anyone underestimates how hard you guys work to create and keep virtual airlines stable. I’m just trying to see what people (mostly pilots) but also people like you (Ceo’s, founders) think of how VA’s are and what they would like to see in the future as these airlines grow bigger and bigger.

A VA will not thrive without a solid interior structure. That begins with the staff. The staff cannot just be staff-wannabies, they have to have past experience in whatever job they are doing. If the staff is solid, everything else will be solid. :)

So to answer the question, I like to see VA’s with a solid set of staff.

Basically what @Rian16 said, except for professionalism. It really depends on the VA/VO’s purpose!

What VA was it may I ask

It depends which type of professionalism. If you mean the management of the VA/VO should be professional, I completely agree with you. If however you mean with the atmosphere within the VA/VO should always be professional - that is definitely not the case (it can also be fun and casual).

Oh god ye I don’t want to be part of a VA where I can’t ever have a laugh. I do expect a bit of professionalism tho regarding events though

Hola, CEO here. Your goal is to provide a safe and caring space for Pilots. You want to make sure they feel welcomed and guided through the welcome process and not stranded running through channels trying to find welcome instructions.

Hello CEO for easyJet Virtual here! What we like to see is development within the VA so we try and brainstorm some new ideas regularly to keep pilots occupied & excited especially now during lockdown :) of course recognising all of your pilots within the VA as sometimes people can get lost in the background! I love it more each day
