Hey everyone! I’m gonna be making a YouTube video soon featuring all of your favourite Infinite Flight hacks! You can also use this to just put yours below!
Here’s mine: (This is from before pushback tugs were added) I would push back and then cancel it straight away to
A) Simulate the tug being attached
B) Trigger the IFPAX safety announcement to start, because it usuallyy starts before or during pushback!
I personally do not do that just because realistically you would not have a super loud engine roar, if you put it to 15% and wait you do get moving at an appropriate pace. I agree for the throttle on takeoff, but I normally do 30% but again preferences. Each to their own
You can stop your pushback without pressing “stop pushback” all you have to do is slide down the brakes on the rudder which brings you to a smooth stop.
What you are describing is breakaway thrust. In real life, breakaway thrust almost exceeds 30% N1 (there are some exceptions). After rolling, pilots usually reduce their thrust to idle or close to idle to save fuel.
It’s not really a lifehack, but i always taxi on 1 engine to conserve fuel, in real life they do it aswell. The only bad thing is that you’re moving very slow at the beginning. Luckily i got patience for infinite flight!
When on final I purposely keep the plane just a little below the glide slope so that when I flare the plane it always lands right on the touch down zone.
Can’t say I would endorse that method. While it certainly helps with fuel efficiency, it is also not very practical nor realistic.
The key phrase: 60-70% Trim
Since trim is usable at pretty much any point in flight, it is much more viable since it maintains the correct cruising config for the 747 while at the same time providing the same benefit to fuel efficiency, if not better.
