13L! Rahhhh! Lol planes only land on 13R if they’re Air Force one, a small private or prop plane, or they’re some weird runway change and one plane will land there. Probably 1 in 500 planes that use the approach land 13R, and not 13L.
13R never used for landings. Everything else is
31R, 4R, 22L, and 13L are never used for takeoffs.

That was a typo, yes 13L, while 13R, the longer of the two is used primarily for deps.

The lead in lighting really helps when shooting the parkway visual for 13L at night.

Yeah, though as someone who’s lived here his whole life I can confirm they usually just use the rnav Canarsie, same exact thing just done by autopilot. A decade ago, they used to do it all the time visually. Even it’s a clear day, they stick with gps… or not. Not many ways of being able to tell when I’m not listening to atc, but one of the telltale signs is an overshoot of the turn. Often times planes will accidentally square their base or turn too early, that’s how you know it’s on the visual. Also some planes follow the gps different ways, for example, I know the exact place a crj would be following the turn in comparison to an Airbus a320. If they are on autopilot, they’re at there telltale location since they all turn at diff angles and times. If they are flying it visually, they’ll be pretty far off lol. So yeah to sum it up, I sadly rarely see them actually doing the visual approach.

A (bit more than) a decade ago would coincide with when I was flying into JFK. Company required visual approaches be backed up, but in good weather we’d just hand fly the visual into 13L.

i hate it, it happens to me so much. I taxi at maximum 30 knots when theres a long straight taxi, and i do maximum 15 knots on 90 degree turns

Every once in a while I try to do a realistic presidential transport flight. I always feel embarrassed doing so bc most people who fly Air Force one think they’re above all in game, and they have priority and stuff.
