This may be an unpopular opinion, but those people who repeatedly use Emirates A380’s are kinda annoying. Literally anywhere you go, whatever event it is, you’ll ALWAYS find an Emirates A380. Like I understand that you may be a part of a VA, or you’re just a big fan of Emirates, but sometimes your VA doesn’t operate to this airport irl routes.

I have a few… People flying next to me during my flights (I don’t need an escort). People taxiing with strobe lights on (UGH). People who race you to the runway to take off (I usually just stop and make them go). People who don’t wait when you announce 10 times you’re on final.

After hearing it either on the news or social media, it is ROUGHLY the same as driving—unless you’re maybe driving non-stop for 24 hours straight (again, not likely), driving 10 mph over the speed limit most likely isn’t going to save you more than 5 minutes. i.e. Agreeing with you 150% that taxiing at 34 knots isn’t going to save you more than 5 minutes.

Oh right so that explains. There was a 777 performing a takeoff but he had to reject due to him crossing the runway without any caution.

I find it annoying likewise when they’re operating in/out of airports not designed to accommodate the A380 or B747-8 (Category F aircraft).
Some of my fellow IFATC controllers need to do better at learning what aircraft an airport is capable of handling. I often see A388’s, including EK A388’s, flying into airports unable to accommodate the A380. When category F aircraft request approach or landing at these airports, ATC needs to deny the request for being too large.

For 31L, you can pretty much do any normal procedure except for right downwind, and for 13R, the opposite end, all flights follow the Canarsie approach, which looks like the screenshot but the other way around.
