What are sids/stars

Can someone plz explain them? I’m really get frustrated if descending to early or to late and want the autopilot to to the TOD or whateveremphasized text

Hello,

To find the SIDs/STARs for an airport, click on the airport you would like to see them for go to PROC tab, and choose the one you desire. Then when descending, you click on VNAV make sure to arm a few minutes before you are at TOD and then it should guide you along to the assigned alts on it. Heres a useful guide

“SID” stands for Standard Instrument Departure. “STAR” stands for Standard Terminal Arrival. SIDs and STARs are published instrument procedures to follow when departing from or arriving to an airport. Many of these procedures have minimum and maximum crossing altitudes of waypoints. This isn’t representable in Infinite Flight, so the altitudes are usually the minimum. This does not correspond to an efficient or realistic descent profile, so unless you wanna go above and beyond with pulling up the charts for these procedures, you can just delete these altitudes and create your own as I explained in your topic for approaches (remember you can just use the energy gates, it’s a lot easier)

Sid’s are used for depatures to help the plane get on the right flight path and STAR is used for arrivals to guide the airplane to the runway for landing.
