What Are Mach Speeds?

When I reach a certain altitude for example 30,000 ft, it switches to the Mach speed reading. I don’t properly understand what the ground speed is when it is showing the Mach speed and it is hard for me not to go over the speed I want to stay at. Does anyone have a good understanding of it?

Mach speed is a percentage in terms of the speed of sound. Ground speed is the speed you are going relative to the ground.

The Mach Speed is your speed relitave to the speed of sound. 86% the speed of sound, Mach Speed 0.86.

Never fly faster than M0.86, because you will get a violation.

Mach speed- Switches at 27000 Feet MSL (I think). You can find your GS above the minimap, next to the wind speed and direction.

Ah, so it’s a violation for overspeed?

A violation for exceeding your aircraft’s limitations. Not .86.
