What airport do you think has the most amount of airlines and routes. I wonder this because I like to listen to LiveATC.net but although ATL is the busiest airport in the world, it’s pretty boring just to hear Delta, Delta, Delta. I imagine that HNL, LAX, and JFK have a lot of airlines but I bet there have to be some with more
I’d say probably LAX. No airline has a “true” hub there, and theres plenty of U.S., Asian, European, South American, and Down Under carries.
LHR imo, lots of different airlines there that you wouldn’t normally see at other airports.
I also think JKF, has a lot of diverse routes, as a lot of planes come form over seas for the UK.
HGK or LHR probaly.
RJTT Tokyo Control looks pretty popular.
I don’t know if you’ve seen the “Top 50 LiveATC Feeds”; it gives a good review of what’s being listened to the most.
I would say either LAX or JFK
I think Sydney (YSSY) has a lot of diverse routes also
While it may not be a “hub” the big 3 (UAL, DAL, AAL) have operation facilities based at LAX.
Route wise Keflavik (BIKF) has lots of random routes with IcelandAir. But they are practicaly the only airline there.
I’m pretty sure there’s statistics somewhere. If I recall correctly, CDG is number 1 for the most airlines… I’m pretty sure AMS is high up there as well.
Chicago Midway only has Southwest, Delta, Volaris, and Porter (4 airlines)
This thread is about which airport has the most diverse airlines and routes
This one will have another destination in Texas soon!
IAD has some cool airlines
Definitely not the most diverse though…just United, United, United, United, United, Delta, United, United, United, United, Copa, United, United, United, United, United, United, United, British Airways, United, United, United, United, United, Southwest (I think you get the point now lol)
IAD has more diversity in international airlines than BWI and DCA, but I believe DCA has the most diversity, even though it’s basically just American, American, American, American, American, American, American, American, United, American, American, American, American, Southwest, American, American
From personal experience definitely KORD. When I was there I saw so many different airlines and planes, like a KLM 744, Lufthansa a340, American a320, United 737, etc. KSFO was like this as well when I was there, but even KSAN gets some diverse airlines and aircraft like Spirit, American, Southwest, United, Lufthansa, JAL, etc., but definitely not as much as major airports (Ehem… EGLL, JFK, LAX)
I would say LHR. It also has a lot of short haul Routes which you can’t really see in that picture.
Oh holup, I’m blind. I forgot it shows how many destinations each airport serves lmao…
I’m pretty sure this is fairly accurate… I selected some notable hubs and airports and had the cut off at around 160… may have missed a few.
