WestJet Cuts 5 Cities In Eastern Canada

WestJet Airlines of Canada has officially announced that they will be pulling back from most of their Atlantic Canadian destinations. They will still be serving their transatlantic routes, but they will be severely reducing services and terminating from some airports on the Atlantic coast of Canada. The airports include the following:

Permanently Suspension To:

  • Moncton
  • Fredericton
  • Sydney
  • Quebec City
  • Charlottetown

Major Reduction To

  • Halifax
  • St. John’s

They published a full YouTube video on what this will look like, with the CEO, Ed Sims talking. As much as they were trying to help passengers during these difficult times, it was important for them to cut these routes in order to maintain proper service and revenue. Luckily, they are starting to get more possible, and we hope to see them return to the airport within the next few years once travel recovers.
