A very turbulent climb out from Addis Ababa

Cruising at 38,000 feet over the Ethiopian highlands. This is the first place coffee was every cultivated, so if you enjoy a cup of it in the morning, you’ve got Ethiopia to thank

A view from the tail over South Sudan, the world’s youngest county

Passing Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. Fun fact: Cameroon contains 90% of the Africa’s ecosystems, climates, and landscapes. It’s often called “Africa in Miniature” for this reason

Absolutely ridiculously beautiful scenery as we cross out over the Atlantic for a short oceanic crossing before arriving in Malabo.

Turning base for Equatorial Guinea’s capital. Equatorial Guinea is geographically unique. Most of its landmass is actually on the African continent, but its largest city and capital are on a small island 100 miles to the northwest off the coast of Cameroon.

More stunning views on final. The volcano dead ahead is Mount Cameroon, on the African mainland

Welcome to Equatorial Guinea! This is the only country in Africa with Spanish as its official language

Very nice to see some Central African action! That region is severely undervisited and underrated.

There’s some really good 3D airports too, especially in Cameroon. I’d highly recommend Cairo → Douala (FKKD) on the EgyptAir 737-800 - it’s insanely beautiful the whole way.

@Mort Yet again you inspire me
