Last night, at between 6.40 and 6.50pm NZST I saw two strange lights in the sky. They appeared to be moving slowly, and didn’t seem to be any sort of aircraft I could distinguish. I was driving through Foxton at the time, however I couldn’t get a photo or check FR24 as my phone battery was dead. Does anyone know what it could be?
Hmm, maybe a drone?
It looked larger than a drone.
I’m guessing it wasn’t a prop plane either…
I thought at first it was an ATR 72 headed for Palmerston North, however it was too low for that, and didn’t have enough lights.
Wow, interesting…
It could of been a small general aviation plane or some type of military plane that was doing some sort of training with few/no lights
So he came all the way to NZ just to visit me!
@Potato_pilot… Just left the Pub did ya BoyO? Typical Way Down Under Syndrome. Been there done that! Gooday Mate, Max Sends
The lights were too bright to be a GA plane, or a fighter jet.
No, I was driving from Wanganui to Wellington. Unless someone rigged my Subway…
Maybe a C-130?
Too small to be that.
It was aliens.
Maybe Drones? or unmanned aircraft?
The lights were too bright for that, and it was too big. Also, I don’t see why’d test unmanned aircraft in NZ
Then I am completely clueless to what that object is. Another what if is it could be a military drone NZ seems like a quiet place.
I agree with the quietness, and NZ isn’t in any direct war where we’d need to test secret defence aircraft
People say it could be a shooting star or UFO.
