Looks like a compass to me, that is a heading circle to determine heading.

If I had to guess, it was drawn on by the IFAET and not Sat. Imagery.

Fun Fact, The Compass Rose at Edwards was once used as a calibration monument for Photo Satellite (Keyhole) Orientation… NS

For satellite calibration. There are other shapes and lines for this purpose as well all over the U.S.

Imagine you are at a base that likes to test aircraft and also land the shuttle. Why not?

We are also having the exact same discussion that we had a month ago.

This compass has been rigged onto Google Sattelite Imagrey since this base is a military base. It has been put on to GoogleMaps since most things here are secrets. Not even joking. Does everybody here even think that has been mowed onto the ground? They have obviously drawn onto a piece of paper and ‘Photoshopped’ it onto the Sattelite Imagery.

I’m not even kidding

Interesting find! Never noticed while flying out of KEDW. (Fixed spelling in the title for ya! 😉)

That’s quite the conspiracy 😂

Many “odd” things etched into our Earth. Google ground etchings seen from the air. I’m sure it’ll come up with a bunch. Happy Hunting!
