I was flying an f 22 out of Edwards Air Force base and then I saw this really wierd circle with numbers on it does anyone know what it is if so then please comment on this post.
Take a look at google maps. It is there in real life.
It has also been talked about many times before.

Looks like a compass to me, that is a heading circle to determine heading.

If I had to guess, it was drawn on by the IFAET and not Sat. Imagery.

MaxSez: This scribed/etching is called a âCompass Roseâ itâs common and found in many forms. Back when I was a Kid, before sophisticated radio/GPS Nav, Farmers and Rural Communities emplaced Compasses Roses strategicall y on the roof of major structures or the middle of corn fields Lo, primerally Off Airways which where In there infancy.

For satellite calibration. There are other shapes and lines for this purpose as well all over the U.S.
Imagine you are at a base that likes to test aircraft and also land the shuttle. Why not?

This compass has been rigged onto Google Sattelite Imagrey since this base is a military base. It has been put on to GoogleMaps since most things here are secrets. Not even joking. Does everybody here even think that has been mowed onto the ground? They have obviously drawn onto a piece of paper and âPhotoshoppedâ it onto the Sattelite Imagery.
