Remember my friend? The dumb one not the rich one, earlier in the summer I came up to New York City 🗽🍎 to visit him for a few days or so before continuing on across the US 🇺🇸 to Los Angeles 🌴📸 and that I told you guys while in LA he almost got us kicked out of Disneyland 🐭🏰 well he invited me to hangout with him this weekend away from the massive metropolis he lives in up north in White Plains, NY now American Airlines does fly to White Plains from Miami 🏝️😎 but that service is seasonal and as of right now, it isn’t running they also fly from Washington DCA, Charlotte and I believe Chicago O’Hare but those flights are on CRJs and I HATE them I flew on one once and I said “never again”, so AA is out of the picture but what is in the picture is known as one of North America’s BEST airlines
JetBlue
Now unlike AA, jetBlue doesn’t fly to White Plains from MIA instead they mainly use the nearby Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ( KFLL ) up in Fort Lauderdale 🏝️🛥️ which is JBs mainly base here in South Florida but they also serve HPN from another airport in the area,
Palm Beach International Airport ( KPBI )
That’s right PBI my local airport, for once I don’t have to drive south to catch a flight, The last time I flew out of PBI was for my 5th grade Washington DC trip with United on a Boeing 737-700 we even did the iconic RWY 19 River Visual and me and my friends took my classmates Stroopwafel’s as well ah the memories. But enough talking let’s drive NORTH to begin this trip up!
Flight Info
Origin: Palm Beach Intl 🇺🇸 ( KPBI )
Destination: Westchester County 🇺🇸 ( KHPN )
Flight Time: 2:18
Airbus A320-200 ( JetBlue Shantay )
Server: Expert
Here we are, gate C15! This went much quicker than I am used to mostly since this terminal is small versus AAs terminal D at MIA is MASSIVE and my gate could be all the way at the OTHER END also this airport isn’t as busy anyways, here is the A320 taking me me up the east coast this afternoon!
This is our view for the 2 hour flight up and I will admit, this cabin is a MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT. I remember the old cabin on the A320s, the IFE screen was really small and the map wasn’t that good either but the seats were comfortable, now phase 2 is still good in terms in comfort but not as good as the old one but one AMAZING change was the IFE rework, screens are now bigger and the map is better and works perfectly!
PBI has 3 RWYs, 10L/R, 28L/R, 14 and 32. 10L and 28R seem to be the ones typically used today we blasted off from RWY 10L as winds blew east to west.
Look at this view at the Florida intercostal on take off along with downtown West Palm Beach, Peanut Island is off in the distance. Sadly, the wing is covering the former president’s estate here in WPB.
Better view of Peanut Island as we fly away from the Florida coast into the Atlantic.
Climbed up to FL330 and the flight attendants started their service, they didn’t provide ACTUAL food but snacks and drinks like AA but it is UNLIMITED unlike AA where they are only handed out at certain times ( unless your on their longer flights ) so 4 stars for the unlimited bonus for JB ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ before take off, I signed onto JetBlues “Fly-Fi” their internet 🛜 service which is fast and get this,
100% FREE
That’s right no extra cost for fast internet access now that’s something I did expect since I do read reviews and watch trip reports before boarding a new airline to see what to expect but I am personally, NEVER bored on JetBlue!
We started our decent right around New York City so it’s time to conclude in our JetBlue experience. Overall, this flight was GREAT, crew were nice, the free fast wi-fi definitely was a plus and the unlimited snacks and drinks provided, I am DEFINITELY excited for my irl cross country flight from FLL → LAX on their A321 in September, now this flight wasn’t on the “epic” level for me I definitely enjoyed other flights like MIA → CLO, MIA → LAX, MIA → JFK, JFK → LAX and the recently done EZE → FCO but this doesn’t mean the route wasn’t fun, it was just not as good as these.
Slowing down on HPN’s right downwind for RWY 34 above the Long Island Sound.
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome to White Plain’s Westchester County airport, a small airport just outside of NYC which really only sees regional jets apart of JetBlues A320s.
Disembarked here at gate 1 and this terminal is TINY but it’s a small airport so what do you expect?, anyways no need to wait in baggage claim since I only brought a backpack and and my friend picked me up, went to have dinner and made our way to the Airbnb he rented us and it was great. And before we end this trip I do have some bad news, Aerolíneas Argentinas seemed to delay their long haul service from MIA to Aeroparque currently it is unknown which date it will inaugurate but it isn’t the day we expected so looks like so far I’m no longer flying the inaugural ☹️ but don’t worry I will still try it out once I get the chance! As always between now and the next time, see you in the sky! 😉👋
