Weather and Terrain Radar

I feel you on that one…
I always struggle with terrain too, when I was approaching Nice It was my first time and I had no idea about the terrain…, I decided approach from the north, and descended to 3000ft. That was when I noticed the mountains ahead where a lot higher than I expected and had to pull up immediately to avoid them. I think I got away with 20 feet or so. Yes, IFATC was watching…

Hahaha me too last time I was approaching Nice, the mountains can really be dangerous in this situation, with the Terrain Weather Radar it will not happen. Some people don’t know an Airport so they just descend to 5000ft hoping to capture the Glideslope, in real they are 1000ft abover Ground.

I think they need to add weather first. But still a very good idea.

Like @Pilot_Dave said, with the new project metal and weather, this will work.

with clouds coming, I think the weather will get an update too. It would perfect to finally have this

What would be better is that instead of a black map, we can have maps with terrains and where you can see the taxi lines and stuff instead of a weather and terrain radar cause unless we get “weather”, it’s kinda useless.

Now we have weather we could use a weather radar!

Back before global we used to have exactly that with the terrain turning orange then red if you went under the Lowest Safe ALTitude (LSALT) if I recall correctly. I think because of global that feature become way to big to implement over the whole world this was removed and hasn’t been seen since.

But I agree it would be a good addition if they could implement it back, it not sure if it’s any more feasible.

I agree with you and you have my vote

I had just made a topic regarding this because when I flew I had extreme weather conditions and it caused a lot of fuel burn and I had to make a emergency landing to Dulles (my destination). In Expert Server. I would really help pilots in-game as they can meanuver and it would be more realistic.

I would love to see this back!

There is still so much potential in the cockpit displays. They might be able to implement the weather radar if new and larger versions of clouds are added!
