I am flying from over the Atlantic Ocean and I am noticing that my altitude is changing from 35,983-35,987. So is IF calculating wave height or something?
No, a so called “wave” is a phenomenon on the lee-site of a mountain, and that’s not implemented. You most likely are experiencing some normal light turbulence.
Ok, I am just curious because I know I was in light turbulence and my altitude only changed by 1 foot during that. Then I noticed these altitude changes while the light turbulence was the same. Ok that passed and it is changing by 1 foot during the same turbulence. I was thinking either waves or some very tiny islands.
Nope I have never piloted anything in RL. I am just very observant and notice patterns lol.
I think when you say wave you are asking if the waves on the ocean are influencing the indicated altitude above ground correct?
Not an unreasonable theory but I think IF just treats the surface of the ocean as a flat plane.
I’m pretty sure above sea level reading stay the same even with waves.
Yes, that is what I mean.
