Water-bombing helicopter crashes, killing the pilot in NSW

A firefighting helicopter has crashed while battling a blaze on the NSW South Coast with the pilot - the sole person on board - feared dead.

The helicopter crashed near Ulladulla after 2pm on Friday, a Civil Aviation Safety Authority spokesman told AAP.

Calls to emergency services indicated the chopper had crashed into a tree. This is the 2nd aviation accident today :(

Always a shame and saddening to hear people die at the expense of everyone else’s wellbeing in their country. He was clearly a selfless and productive person trying to do what’s best for his country. I have a large amount of respect for people like him.
