‘Watching’ LiveATC/Flightradar24

Hope this is the appropriate category. Just wanted to share something I do for fun now and again.

There’s a really enjoyable way for aviation enthusiasts like us, to pass a little time by watching an airport on Flightradar24, whilst simultaneously listening to the action unfold over the comms via LiveATC.net.

A great one to try(selfishly as I love the Q400) is CYTZ - Billy Bishop airport in Toronto. A small airport with a good selection of traffic & coordination.

Here is fun, because you will hear the same pilots voices pop up inbound/outbound during the short turn around for the constant Porter & Jazz traffic.

Also there’s the presence of little helicopters practising all day & being coordinated with the stream of traffic. Medivac helis also come here. With many GA aircraft as well.

Billy Bishop also gets gusty with low visibility at times. A good time to watch/Listen believe me

Give it a try next time you want to pass a little time

I do this sometimes at airports like EGLL or KJFK and I wish I could listen to EDDF ATC but unfortunately it’s prohibited

I do this when I’m spotting and waiting for arrivals. Its a great way to pass the time, and see everything you’re listening too.

I sometimes try EPWA but I can’t understand anything.

I used to do this but only with ATL and sometimes LAX or JFK because I know there will be constant ATC comms deliveries.
