Was I in the right, or wrong?

About 30 minutes ago on the training server, I was approaching LAX for the runway 25L. A 747-8 was also coming in and was gonna go in front and I didn’t mind and lowered my speed. The 747 had a missed approach, and I was number 1 to land and I made it clear that I was on final for 25L to the tower before anything. However, about 30 seconds after I was told for 25R when I was already on final for 25L. Turns out the 747-8 wanted to land on 7R, without announcing they were doing so, and the tower wanted me to go on 25R instead, but I kept flying for 25L because I thought the tower made a mistake. And meant 25L and was gonna tell the 747-8 to go around. Turns out I got the ‘check the runway assignments’ and I knew I missed up, but after thinking about it, The 747-8 should’ve went around anyway because They never announced their arrival for 7R, only for 25L (Which they missed their approach for.) So I’d like to know if I was wrong, or right.

And if I was in the wrong, I’m sorry for whoever was the tower for LAX during that moment.

I dont think you’re in any wrong here. How were the winds?
And of course, Training server isnt the most realistic on ATC comms

They were calm, think the direction was 280 and 5knts.

Unfortunately, you’ll run into these incidents every so often on Training Server. I would say that you should’ve followed ATC instructions as if it was Expert Server, you may have been reported, but it’s understandable that you also may have thought they assigned you to the incorrect runway.

Honestly, in a situation like that, there really isn’t a correct thing to do because that wouldn’t happen on ES. If the 74 attempted to do that on ES, they would just get reported and you would have landed uneventfully on 25L.
Edit: obviously, if on ES ATC told you to change you should have made the visual switch over.

First, you were on the correct runway!

Second, the 747 should not be executing a missed approach and landing in 7R, winds are favorable to 25’s and 24’s.

Third, the 747 did something that should have caused a level 3 violation, and the ATC also should not be permitted a landing on the runway opposite to traffic. Furthermore, defying the traffic pattern.

The switch to 25R should only be used if traffic on 25L is too close together. If the 74 executes a missed approach they should renter the traffic pattern for 25L. The only time the switch should happen is if that aircraft was disobeying ATC and therefore you needed to avoid collision.

It’s the training server, I run into these problems all the time, especially when I try to control San Diego.

Training server is nothing better than casual, only added thing is the possibility for crappy ATC and automated violations…

I mean, you’re not in the right. But you’re also not in the wrong. You’re in the gray area known as “it happened on training server don’t think about it too much”.

You’re right, if the aircraft is landing 7R and you’re on short final 25L immediately switch runways or execute a go around. Always assume the aircraft is not looking your for you.

Im sure the atc was smart here because he actually used the check runway assignments command. Today i was atc at LSZH and some aircraft kept coming in at 300 knots and trying to land at the closest runway and going wround 5 times, i tried everything but they wont stop doing so. Its just how TS works

It honestly depends on the ATC,
