It happens frequently that I contact the approach while still climbing or turning following my flight plan. When the approach tells me to wait for radar vectors what should I do:
Continue to follow my flight plan, that means changing directions and altitude or flying straight and leveled?
Just maintain your current altotude and heading
I’ve been vectored into mountains before  ;(
Then feel the pain 😂
Climb via SID, maintain runway heading or follow your flight plan until vectored. You are the pilot in command. If you’re headed into a mountain, navigate as necessary.
SID? English it’s not my mother lenguage, sorry
I do this question to myself many times too, but I found the correct answer, you must continue at the currently altitude, speed and heading until Approach Tower contact you to descent to the runway in use, don’t turn or descent because Tower can say to you "Please Check Help Pages For Assitance Using ATC Instructions and if you continue to your way they can also Report you and this isn’t good! ;)
When I don’t have recive an heading I continue in my FPL
If you request an approach/vectors you shouldn’t continue flying your flight plan.
Request flight following; expect vectors for approach Real aircraft continue without indication
Most people don’t know what SIDS and STARS are… Or how to use charts
