Welcome, Dear Friends to my first spotting topic of 2026!
So I was lucky enough to convince my mother to take me spotting today after an Indoor track meet. Our original plan was to go to JFK and spot arrivals…. Until we loaded google maps and it was an hour drive from the northeast shore of Staten Island to JFK. So I decided to set up at the locally famous IKEA Parking lot to spot some 22R departures at Newark Liberty International Airport
Starting off with a 737-900 callsign UAL1409 to @Waxyscorpion308 land
GJS4177 on a quick hop off to IAD
AAL2133 off to @AviationFreak at PHX
This could be my last time spotting a banana bus also off to MCO
UAL2499 off to Miami! I flew this exact route 2 years ago, on a 737-700
first time spotting a Caribbean airline as DWI2311 goes down to Santo Domingo
I am a bit biased with Frontier, but who can’t love the animals on the back. Frontier flight 1413 headed to @813WhiskeyNovember in MDW. I was listening to the Tower Frequency and the pilot was a new pilot and was her first flight out of Newark!
finally a heavy as UAL79, a 789 off to Narita. I was waiting for this aircraft the entire hour I was there
UAL363 off to Honolulu. Escaping the 28 degree cold to go to Hawaii? Lucky!
Finally, JZA877 off to YYZ. It lined up for full runway and rotated I think before the thousand footers!

So I saw that my Bucket list Aircraft was coming to TTN…
So as a Avgeek I had to.
Problem is the photos have more grains than Atlantic City’s beach

1 hour to get from Staten Island and then 2-3 hours more trying to get back to Philly? Nah I’ll take my chances with newark
