Yes, I know what you’re thinking. This would be a rubbish idea and would be dominated by trolls. And it would be in the conventional way (similar to Discord/teamspeak). However, my idea is to have voice commands for ATC. Here’s an example.
User (Voice) “Speedbird 18, ready for pushback runway 09L.”
This then gets transmitted on the frequency as that, but using the artificial voice. If someone said something that’s not a command the system could just ignore it.
Apologies if this isn’t the clearest feature request, I’m making this at 1am. I’ll edit it shortly if it doesn’t really make sense.
Oh I know what you mean, but it could be a little challeging and a pain in the *ss due to 70% of the live players don´t even know what does “line up and wait” means. Cheers!
Great idea! This would help many ways. For example, when Tower sends you to departure, your guy acknowledges using “Contacting ______ Departure on 123.1” but it could be used as “Over to Departure, g’day”.
Sadly, it would be hard to implement:(
@mrpidgeon… MaxSez: The IF Assistant App proves voice recognition features do not function universally on this platform. The App’s failure rate for inflection, accent etc error or non recognition is significant. Why add this feature when the Assistant App has shown voice recognition for this platform is a crap shoot?
No offense to the Dev, but he probably didn’t use a very widespread voice recognition API. If you use a good one (by Google, or Microsoft) it’s likely to work with every accent.
@mrpidgeon… No voice recognition system works for me due to an accent.
SIRI laughs at me! Nice idea but, is it worth the time, effort and cost for IF. I don’t think so… Regards, Max
