VOBI airport is inside a deep trench

Hi lads,

So yesterday I thought I’d spawn into a random airport to do T&Gs and picked VOBI in India. All good until I realised it’s nestled inside a deep, narrow trench.

I checked photos of the actual airport and, surely enough, it exists without the trench. Is this the case just for me or is it a glitch that’s gone unnoticed? Please advise, cheers!

PS: It’s great fun to take a fighter and try to clear the trench. I have yet to land successfully though, so share your video if you manage! (Only on Casual Server please.)

Looks like a “Airport Altitude” glitch. I’m sure the airport editors will be on it as soon as possible.

I can’t see this glitch 🤔

Hello! 👋🏻

I can confirm that there is a elevation issue here. This airport was recently edited for a boundary error by one of our editors back in September. It seems that the elevation of the airport isn’t matching of the scenery and that might be a editor error or the data from our sources (AirNav/Skyvector/etc) may not be 100% accurate. Because of the inaccurate elevation date, this is causing the airport to be lower then the true ground elevation.

I have taken note and we will fix this for a future airport scenery update.

Thanks,

Aye aye, agreed

Howdy,

Upon further examination, it has been concluded that while the airport elevation appears to match charted data, there is still a problem. The data shown in charts appears to be wildly incorrect, so we have adjusted the airport elevation to match that of surrounding terrain and airports.

Thanks for the report,

Ryan
