When setting altitudes on APP in VNAV, is the last altitude setting the runway elevation for a given airport?
When setting alt for VNAV you set the alt in relation to MSL. APPR on the other hand flying the altitude in relation to the runways glidslope
I usually set the last VNAV alt as the waypoint at the top of the ILS cone to 3000 which is where you should be at that time on your approach.
If you want to fly an GPS (RNAV) approach, then yes, you would set the runway altitude for the threshold waypoint.
Otherwise as many said before it wouldn’t be required as you would fly either visually or via APPR mode/ILS guidance.
