Welcome to our main thread. Weâve taken some time to improve what we post on the Infinite Flight Community, to make sure that all our threads and posts remain visually aesthetic and convey information clearly. So, who are we? Founded all the way back in November of 2017, VirtualPorter is an Infinite Flight virtual airline based on Porter Airlines, a small Canadian regional carrier operating within Eastern Canada and parts of the Eastern U.S. Our operations within the VA is meant to be from the perspective of a pilot, not the passenger. With this in mind, we want to offer our pilots the best resources and environment available in a VA to transport our beloved virtual passengers safely from one destination to the other, all while maintaining a sense of realism and Canadian hospitality within the mobile flight simulator we operate on. Our vision is simple: to be a laid back virtual organisation with a vibrant community centred around our real life counterpart. We are IFVARB certified.

One of the things that our organisation truly prides itself upon (other than the Q400) is the website. Here is where all our VA details are located, as well as our flight schedules, tutorial videos, reward programmes, pilot roster and more! The site has been updated numerous times throughout the 2 years weâve been operating to ensure that it always meets the standards of our members, our airline and that it remains user friendly. All banners and text formatting are checked rigorously to iron out even the smallest of inconsistencies. Below we have a sneak peek of what it looks like on your devices!
đ The magnificent and elegant Dash-8 Q400:
We operate only one aircraft variant in our fleetâŚa true beast, many pilots would call it, the Dash-8 Q400 is a Canadian turboprop airliner designed and developed by Bombardier Aerospace (now being produced by De Havilland Canada). First introduced in 1999, Bombardier has since then sold over 300 â-400â variants. Capable of superb fuel efficiency, quiet comfort and low operational costs, the Q400 is literally the powerhouse of Porter Airlines. Although it is quite underrated, nobody can deny its beauty and reputation. This aircraft is what our virtual organisation is so proud of, and is also what we revolve around. All Porter flights are operated by the Q400. There are currently 29 Q400s in the actual Porter Airlines fleet, as of June 2019. Our staff team have worked tirelessly to create a PDF featuring Q400 SOPs, speed tables and flight profiles, all based on a combination of real world and flight sim data tailored for the Infinite Flight mobile simulator. However, it is Discord exclusive and only accessible by our members. đ PDplus and PDgold:
Apart from flying, we also offer our pilots two exclusive and unique reward programmes! For each flight you log in VirtualPorter, you earn 1 PDplus point - these points can be used to purchase the seasonal PDplus pass, where members can rank up and earn special rewards. PDgold on the other hand, is our premier rewards programme. PDgold points can only be earned through completing offers and attending our Porter Escapes or Porter Xplorer events. With these points, our members can purchase special rank badge designs and nicknames to be displayed on their pilot roster profile! đ Our VA/VO affiliates:
In order to mimic our real life counterpartâs operations as much as we possibly can while also ensuring that our members have a diverse fleet of aircraft available right at their hands, we currently have agreements with El Al Virtual and Singapore Virtual! This means that our pilots are presented with the opportunity to fly from Toronto to Newark, and from there swiftly connect to Southeast Asia via the A359 or the Middle East using the B789/B772. However, as of our community update 3.01, all codeshare/interline flights now require a certain number of PDplus points to be flown and approved. The longer the journey, the more points needed. We also have multiple codeshare route agreements with IndiGo Virtual, (our largest partnership) which means our pilots can now connect via Singapore to many more regions in South Asia with the A320. As we are only a virtual airline and not 100% based on Porter, we are always open to partnerships with other virtual airlines and organisations. đ Our communications platform:
At this virtual airline, we use Discord as our source of community interaction, operations and notifying members of whatâs going on internally. Discord allows us to categorise channels neatly and offers a super sleek, user friendly format that we feel is much better compared to applications such as Slack.
