Can someone please tell me what these are.
People try to recreate an airline and fly around in the real world routes if they have them. I think VA’s are way too restricting and its better to just enjoy flight.

Some are okay and fun like IFES but some you have to fly 5 hours I one plane to level up to a new plane and if you don’t have it, you can’t move up.

There is no doubt you’ll get people who dislike the idea of a virtual airline. But although you may think it is restricting etc. But there are few virtual airlines that do not sound like the description you have put down. These few VA’s offer various features to enhance the experience of Infinite Flight, and much more than flying casually.

@United747. Max Saz… VA’s are figments of someone imagination. They try to emulate a commercial airlines operations and have a lose set of rules that change at the whime of the Executive (I use the term Executive loosely). If your into a regimented regime and want to get a taste of fantisey flight on a fixed route and schedule have at it. For me it’s just point to point trash hauling with lots of extraneous requirements and no light at the end of the tunnel. Give it a shoot if your of a mind. There free and you can resign at your leisure. Good Luck! Bring on the Flax VA’s, " Have Gun will Travel"…

Do I need to have Live so as to form part of a VA?
How else are you going to do group events?

@Narroc_Wim. Max Sez… "How else do you do group events ". Well Corran first you show fiety to those who “learned you”. Then you fly the regular IF event series on the Advanced Server with your IF comrades when your able. Finally you surround yourself with IF friends who’ll point you in the right direction and stand by you warts and all. Loyalty is a life quality we should all practice faithfully.

Some Virtual Airlines do not require you to have Live, most of those VAs do not. Not sure about IFAO though.
We also try to create a more realistic flight expiriance.
IFAO is pretty much restriction-less. Only requirement is that you fly any plane with an FDS livery. Henrik & I were pretty much the only guys running it, but I don’t have much free time right now so we’ve decided to suspend activities and events for now. We’ll come back later though :)
IFAO had temporaily been shut down.

VAs are what you make of them and each one is run slightly different and range from those which are very loosely organised (you can fly any plane to any destination) to others which are run to emulate more like their real life counterparts. Personally I like to fly for VA which is based on a real airline and trys to fly same / similar routes. It gives a dimension of realism to the Sim, is given a list of routes / flight numbers for a certain aircraft.
@QantasVirtualAirways has given a good list of VAs with different back ground, suggest you check them out and see which of them you fancy! VAs are not for everybody, some people like to fly whatever they fancy…which you still can do with most VAs anyway!

OK… I hope this isn’t necroposting. How do you join a VA? Do you just fly the routes? Do you contact the CEO/ Person in charge?
