Violations

Hi all

I received a few level 2 violations in a row recently and as a result I do not have access to the Expert Server anymore. I regret, as the IF World Tour is a fantastic event with ATC covering making the experience really great.

Here’s the thing: I do not have any reason to appeal. The violations are entirely my fault and the ATC controllers were right in issuing these. I should not have gotten away from my device at critical moments.

Is there any ‘coulance’ procedure or another way I can restore Expert Server access without debating the violation (as there is nothing to debate really)? I have flown level 5 for a really long time…

Thanks for letting me know, I’d love to find a solution.

Hi!

I guess the only way is to make a new account and start again from scratch - but if you want to keep your current account, no. If you don’t appeal the violations, you have to wait for them to “expire”.

You acknowledged the violations were your fault - I suggest you use the time between now and the day you regain access to Expert Server to have a thorough read through of the Flying Guide, including the section on ATC Communication:

Having a complete understanding of the guide can help you avoid violations in the future.

You could definitely make a new IF account if you really wanted to. G3 is 50 hours and a whole bunch of touch and goes (at least 100) which is doable in 2 days and change if you have the patience.

You get 600 xp/hr flying, which means in 50 hours you get 30k. You’d then have to get 20k more which I’m fairly certain 100 touch and goes covers. Maximum practical rate for touch and goes is once every 33 seconds, so figure an hour there. 51 hours total. You can get your 50 hours by just taking a 77L, setting like FL340, and letting it fly for 30 hours and then another one for 20.

The Appeals team will still consider appeal requests even in cases of pilot error. I strongly suggest you to send in your request and explain the circumstances behind the violations.

There were 46 instances of Appeals granting successful appeals as courtesy last month.

Thanks all. I will follow @kadengg advice: will honestly explain what happened, and hope for courtesy in an appeal. If not, will accept the consequence and be without ATC for a while. Making a new account sounds tempting, but I feel more comfortable playing by the rules and accept the consequence of the violations. Thanks so much for your help!

I would just wait it out if it’s a few days. I too leave my device at times but only when at cruising altitude. I generally set a timer when it’s ready to descend and stay glued to my device until I land. The new pause feature helps too if you can’t be at your device during your approach; just come back later and finish up your flight.

From the sounds of it, they hit the 5/yr limit so it would probably be a couple months.
