A340 at fiumicino, Rome. Incident after V1, so rotated, drop fuel and land back for damage control
That makes me sick. I’m sorry.
Should maybe add to the title (Viewer discretion advised) since this could make some people a bit freaked out. Up to you…
Yea I agree. But that still looks bad. Galas I wasn’t on that flight!
Can you please not put this sort of stuff on this FAMIALY FRIENDLY FORUM
Looks like quite a journey for that bird.
That’s sad for the bird and the plane. I fixed the title for you :)
It is like the little dogs that bark and try to attack bigger dogs. Some birds think they are bigger than they really are!
How much time will the aircraft be out of service? They need to repair one engine and a slat, and check the landing gear.
No, bird studies have shown that they have neurons that can “convert the rate of apparent growth in size of an approaching object to an estimate of collision time.” But, that only works until at about 17mph, whereas an object over that limit will confuse the bird, such as a plane, and… kill it.

Nick Chan threw the poor bird towards the aircraft.
The IF Community turned into a murder mystery forum… all that blood.
I think the bird tried to kill the aircraft, and the aircraft defended itself.
With all that splatter, it was definitely a multi-strike incident.
Pulls sunglasses off, one-handed…“You thought you could just fly anywhere you wanted, didn’t you!?”
That has to be more than one bird. It’s probably a duck or a water bird.
Yeap I noticed the webbed feet…
flight departed after 4 hours of repairing some light damage
there were LOTS of birds, not only one. And is something very comon to happen in Fiumicino airport, they even have a bird department control in the airport to hablde this things.
