While I mostly fly IFR, on the occasions where I do fly VFR I tend to find it more interesting.

For airliner flights I only use IFR but when flying small planes like the Cessna 172 I use VFR

VFR just allows for a lot more flexibility, If I want a mix of both I’ll fly from a controlled airport departing via the SID And then I’ll fly to an uncontrolled airport. Example: KSMO to KMMH
