Hey gang! Just wondering what are the usual real life Vertical speeds when taking off until cruising altitude and what are the maximum allowed when touching down (on landing)
Thanks!
Based on my knowledge…
Takeoff VS: 2000 → 4000 ft/min
Descent VS: -1000 → -2000 ft/min
Landing VS (on glideslope): -600 → -900 ft/min

Commonly:
Climb: 1.500 ft/min — 4.000 ft/min
Descend: -2.500 ft/min — -500 ft/min
Touchdown: -300 ft/min — -50 ft/min

Its really depending on the aircraft and what stage of altitude your at.
Example: B737-800 or A320
Average climb rates of 1500 > 3400 ft/min
Average descent rates of -400 > -2300ft ft/min
