Hello, who knows the minimum vertical aircraft separation and where can I find it in in manual.
3NM and 1000 feet vertically stated in standard radar separation minima
. So if I’m at 5200 FT and the aircraft below me is at 4000 should I have received a violation if so please explain I’m simply confused.

If you go back like 15 - 30 seconds you may see where the conflict is!!
My side of view is you suddenly departed from a nearby/local airport while surrounding airspace wasn’t clear for that causing a loss of separation with envoy who was maintaining 4000 feet

That’s the confusing part is “And” because on the diagram it only says Or I’ll go back a look again but I believe I was separated by the vertical rule before closing 3NM
If you were more than 1000ft above him BEFORE you were within 3nm, then it is not a violation of minimum separation rules.
You would not receive a violation in this scenario.
Ok, I appreciate it. I will just pay better attention next time and get even more separation. I think in this instance I probably cut it close so even if it shouldn’t have been a violation it could look like one. It’s no big deal it’s My only one in 12 months.

Did you get a violation? If so, you should definitely send it to appeals. Whether or not it is overturned, it is very likely that you may learn something and come out the other sides armed with better knowledge and skills
Yeah I did but it’s fine. I got my clarification and moving forward I will just keep the distance further. It doesn’t affect anything.
