I think it would be nice to have a feature on the IFC where you can search for users and not try to find them in posts.
You can do that already

You can use the search bar and search someone’s name with @LongHaulGuy (example), if that’s what you mean.

It’s fine, it happens sometimes.
You can also press/click on the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top right corner, then click on “Users” to search by usernames. Pretty much yields the same result as above though.
