Upwind Legs for ATC

Hello, as I’m learning atc, I have a question

When is the upwind leg actually used ?, I’ve never had to use it when having aircraft on patterns and I don’t see an option for it in the atc menu so I’m wondering if there is any situation where it should be used

There isn’t an upwind or crosswind leg command. If you want to sequence an aircraft behind an aircraft on upwind, wait until he’s on downwind or late crosswind then sequence.

You can issue an extend upwind which is used in some situations, found in the ATC menu under pattern instructions. Here’s an oldie but goodie…
