Update Still Not Available

Hello all,

I would like to report that two of my androids have not yet received the 24.3 update. They have not been downloaded, as I have turned off autoupdating, and after checking the play store there is no sign of it either. I am currently in Florida, in a dense urban area with ample coverage so there shouldn’t be any problem with that. They’re both extremely high performance devices with all the requirements met.

In contrast, my iOS device is showing that the update is ready, and I’m planning on updating it shortly. I never fly Expert or Training on it though, so I’m mostly looking to have the update on my androids as the old servers have been abandoned.

Thank you for any assistance.

That’s odd, 24.3 should show. It could be a PlayStore cache issue, you can clear PlayStore cache and data to see if IF shows a new update:

Clear cache and data from Google Play Services
App update issues are sometimes resolved by clearing the cache from Google Play Services. Open the ‘Settings’ app and click the ‘Apps’ tab. Then select Google Play Services and click on Storage. Tap on Clear Cache or Manage space to clear the cache and data

If that doesn’t work, your last resort could be a reinstall. Do you have replays you want to keep? You could back the replays up and then delete and reinstall the app, it will install the latest available version which should be the new update.

I’ve cleared the cache, and I always backup my replays once I do a flight so I don’t have much to lose. I’ll uninstall it on one of them, which is the one I use for Training server. I’ll report when back.

PlayStore cache not Infinite Flight in-app cache ;)

Currently reinstalling the app on one of the phones, it’ll be ready in a few minutes. I did the PlayStore cache, no result, still 24.2. My iPhone on the other hand had the update quite quickly (I got it a few hours after it was supposed to but still got it regardless). I haven’t downloaded it yet on there, but the update button is showing.

The reinstall is complete, and the app is still on 24.2. I can try importing the update when the phone is centered up tonight, but the chances of that working aren’t that high.

Maybe with the hotfix, at least one of the devices will be able to capture the update. Otherwise I’ll have to have them both centered up and just try my chances.

Any updates? Servers are shutting down soon and I’d rather not be forced into flying solo.

Hi, saw your post on the main thread. We’ll close the servers within the next few days so no worries about an immediate shutdown.

This issue seems to be related to the store, so we suggest contacting Google Play to get some support with this. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over this end of the update pipeline. We’ve rolled out the update to 100% of users already.

We’ll send a hotfix today. maybe that can help trigger your devices to get the update perhaps

Thanks for the response,

thankfully as you said you will keep the servers open for at least a few days, while I try to figure out what’s wrong-so at least I’ll still have access.

I centered up the phones a few hours ago, and if successful, the phone’s software with the update included should be sent back tomorrow. Until then, I will also contact Google Play support. And yes, the hotfix might trigger the device as well.

I centered up the phone and it worked. Since the 36-hour safety period is over I can finally update it on one of my phones. In about 30 hours I can also update the other one. I am also in support with Google Play, thanks everyone for the assistance!
