Update on metal

Ahh yes Metal, not the right kind of metal though 🤣
Best joke of the year!

One could even go as far as saying ā€œits in the development pipelineā€ šŸ˜Ž

Although most of them are tubes not pipes

We’ll be seeing a preview of the new graphics soon lol

The devs showed the initial work to Jason and he was in awe.

Exciting times coming next year!

Jason said they were ā€œInsaneā€, on the discord, i actually cant wait to see them

I’m certainly quite excited to see this….

I hope to see a new trailer for this new graphic engine. If devs say its insane, I can“t wait to see that

Will we be able to see a graphic preview video soon?šŸ˜…

I hope so!

Maybe I’m expecting way too much, but I hope to see some of these with this new engine for IF: real time shadows, tire smoke, new texture for pavement and concrete, burnt tire on runways, PAPI instruments, new clouds, maybe even rain or wake turbulence, dynamic lighting such as logo lights, wing lights, runway lights. New ground service equipment like fuel trucks (that actually full the plane), interior cabin lights.

The ability to see more aircraft from very far away and more aircraft visible during busy days. Also to be able to see other vehicles and jet bridges attached to other aircraft.

And also update the jetbridges and animate their canopy.

I’m still wondering what it is

All we know of metal is graphics improvement. I don’t expect something like MSFS or X Plane Quality (well maybe, who knows?)

So theres a bucnh of code

obviously not…

I don’t think we even notice any difference. But as long as it serves to have 3D clouds, dynamic lighting and ultimately visual improvements that improve immersion, that’s enough for me.

3D clouds, i hope so, but in how many decades ?
It’s been a while since this project was created.
I can’t wait to see the outcomes but it’s a bit long…

Other companies create complete games from scratch in this period of time.

Other companies have hundreds if not thousands of devs.

What ā€œpointā€ you want to prove?
Infinite Flight ain’t rockstar games.

It seems like they chose project metal instead of new IF. Now it’s time to show some clear results for it.

Why a new IF?
How many greedy companies having the resources and personnel to maintain the same game in the same graphic engine they don’t it, instead they launch a whole new game itself, yeah I’m talking about activision.
Staff already confirmed that even this current version of Infinite Flight is compatible with the Metal graphics render engine.
There’s no need to make a whole new app if Metal is compatible with current version.

So instead of a new app, they chose Project Metal.
