Hi I just updated the app before my flight this morning, I was heading into LAX and added the approach into runway 25L. Normally on a missed approach you would continue on heading and correct your aircraft, with the update this was not the case, I came back to my iPad to see I got a whole bunch of speed violations. Why does the approach allow you to go under 10,000ft still at cruising speed?
You are responsible for the speed of your aircraft when descending
Hi there! It sounds like you were using the new VNAV feature in conjunction with a STAR and/or an approach. If you activate VNAV, it will descend to the altitude assigned on each waypoint no matter the speed of your aircraft. It is important to be by your device when VNAV is activated because of this. Here’s some tutorials to look at that might help!
Thanks!! Is there anyway to reverse the violations that I got from this?
Unfortunately no, violations are only removed if there is a glitch with the app
This update is not as good as they said, I’m very frustrated over this approach, they need to inform us on the app more about the types of nav.
They’ve said multiple times that you are responsible for the speed
