REPORTED ON THE BENKY6 STAR INTO KORD
SEVERE TURBULENCE
Severe turbulence reported between FL 280 and FL 230 between waypoints BYLAW and BENKY. Please be aware if flying into KORD using that STAR if approaching from the West.

When using KSRQ

Taxiway Romeo 5 connecting to Alpha is closed for construction to Terminal 2
Gate B1 is shutdown as well.

I just wanted to let anyone flying into Van Nuys or Burbank today know that we are experiencing some EXTREMELY high winds. The winds are so strong that aircraft have had to go around, hold, and even divert to other airports. If you’re flying to either of these destinations or currently en route, please be aware of these conditions and prepare an alternate airport. Safe flying!

They closed the other runway too
