I’ll go first: If you are arriving into KJFK, please note this:
Please be sure your approach/arrival does not include waypoint/vor DPK (deer park), as it is out of service. The Canarsie approach is currently in use for 13L, but if your heavy and you must land on 22R, please amend your flight plan to an approach that does not include the Deer Park VOR.
When flying in and out of MSP, DO NOT use RWY 12L/30R. It is closed for runway extension and repaving, and is expected to re open September 21st, 2024.
I’ll join this, as I’m arriving OMDB I’ll set some NOTAMS:
OMDB
30L not in use as of 1445Z
30R is for DEPARTING TRAFFIC AND ARRIVING TRAFFIC
12L and 12R are not in use due to winds coming in from the North.
EDIT: OMDB is now using 30R for arrivals and departures
EGCC
23L is NOT a landing runway. 23R is the landing runway as of now. If winds favour 05R or 05L they can be used as landing runways.
EGLL
09L is the landing runway
09R is the departing runway.
27L or 27R are NOT in use right now due to winds favouring the 09 runways. Please do NOT taxi to the 27 runways if it’s nearest to you.
EDIT: OMDB is now using 30R for arrivals and departures CHECK FLIGHTRADAR24 FOR MORE INFORMATION AND REAL WORLD RUNWAY USAGE BEFORE TAKING OFF OR LANDING AT YOUR AIRPORT
SEVERE TURBULENCE OVER ARIZONA
To all pilots who are flying to or over Arizona please be aware of SEVERE TURBULENCE from FL300 - FL350. I’m not sure about FL360 onwards but if you are flying in that altitude region then please be aware or even divert around that area. Pack in some extra fuel before leaving if you are diverting away from that area.
My poor passengers are going to have to visit the hospital after tumbling about in the cabin and my plane will have to visit the hangar after that intense rocking about. Some may even sue Alaskan Airlines (the livery I’m flying with). I took one for the team I guess 🫡.
When reverse operations are occurring in Athens, please do not use the very first taxiways at the beginning of runways 21B that intersect at a 30 degree angle; they are only used for rolling departures at rush hour.
Pilots flying over the Baltic Sea, beware - I just encountered extreme turbulence at FL310 near waypoint LARTI. This doesn’t match the real world winds per Windy, but the turbulence was so extreme because of the winds that it disconnected the autopilot and nearly stalled me multiple times over. At one point, winds were showing at 198kts. IRL, the wind at this point were around 100kts.
Pilots flying East in the northwestern part of 'Murica: 71kt tailwinds have been reported at 274°, light turbulence. Currently over the northwestern corner of South Dakota and have been experiencing these winds at FL350. It’s certainly boosting my flight a bit 💨💨
Pilots flying over the English Channel at FL340 beware of severe turbulence. This was near the northern tip of France near Cherbourg between waypoints: REVTU and BOLRO.
Runway 12R/30L used as taxi route when Runway 12L/30R used for take-off and landing.
INTRODUCTION OF TWY R1, R2, R3 AND R4.
Once the overhaled runway opens, the inserted runway, as well as rapid exit taxiways 1-4, will be out of service for a certain period of time for remaining work to be completed.
FLIGHT DEPARTING FROM TERMINAL 4 OR THE CARGO APRON THAT ARE UNABLE TO TAKE INTERSECTION S7 WHEN DEPARTING RWY 09R OR SB3/S3 WHEN DEPARTING RWY 27L ARE TO ADVISE HEATHROW DELIVERY WHEN CALLING READY FOR START. AIRCRAFT WILL SUBSEQUENTLY BE CROSSED TO DEPART FROM INTERSECTIONS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE RWY. 2411050128-2412062350
For anybody flying on Oceanic Track Z on segment 44/50:
Expect some slight 170kt+ winds at 243°M when flying between FL320-FL350 (this might apply to altitudes above/below this range). Please keep seatbelt signs ON in case of a sudden barrel roll.
