I was doing a 4 hour and 30 minute flight from KLAS to KJFK. On approach the ATIS at JFK was set as Landing RWY 13L (set in my flight plan).
Meanwhile while other aircrafts were rerouting from RWY 22L or R to 13L, My flight plan was still as filed until the ATC (Akshay_sai specifically) to descend to pattern altitude. Shown in the screenshot provided, I was trying to be realistic as I can and do the visual (or Canarsie Approach) into JFK. There was no traffic infront of me which means that I could had been given the opportunity to land without interacting with any traffic, due to me “Not following instructions”, I have been giving a level 2 violation which was not necessary at all. Please help!

You can appeal a violation here. Also PM the controller in the future to know the reason for the violation.

Thanks for bringing this, but as others said its better to contact the controller directly via a direct message instead of creating a public topic.
If you still feel the violation was unfair, appeals team is there to help you out. They will investigate your case and may ask for some details such as replay or screenshot of atc logs.
