Unknown reason for crashing

I was flying PHNL-LAX today during school, and during passing time between classes I saw that had I around 2 hours left. I go through one class and as I check again the crash screen is there. I had over 6 hours of fuel left. Does anyone have an explanation? My only thought is that my portable charger cord (with electricity inside) bumped my phone in the Altitude autopilot and the plane took a nosedive

I recommend if you have 2 pockets, put the charger in one, the device in another. That reduces the risk of the cord coming into contact with the screen.

Well, maybe something did in fact hit your phones buttons and controls ā€œas the controls are very bunched togetherā€ As your walking I would say alot of stuff is being moved so your device must have hit something sensitive. Also this is most likely not a error on the device. I tend to keep my device in my locker as it is in an flight

I recommend using your backpacks phone slot if possible and put the charge in anuther spot

It could be the weather you were flying in, there could have been really strong winds at the time you were in class which disconnected the autopilot and sent your plane into a nosedive.

@BigBert10 that would depend on the aircraft and conditions. (If anyone who works for the NTSB on here they should look lol.)

If you accidentally disconnected the AP, you are at the mercy of your last calibration.

Well I was flying an A321 around M 0.84, and around M 0.86 it starts becoming really unstable so maybe that could’ve happened

That’s why I depend on Boeing 737-9 would have been fine also use windy.com shows weather and its not usually blocked on restricted comuters

I was flying PHNL to JFK today and had issues too. In different views there would be a black space and wasn’t picking up other aircraft around me despite having full connection to the server. Had to end up ending the flight. And to comment about other comments, definitely wasn’t the wind, was 10/15 mph winds throughout the pacific

Give the black space issue sometimes and it should download. I have had that issue in the past as well and the terrain should appear. If the issue continues to appear, then please make your own topic on it.

There must have been turbulence as well also a different FPL could effect that.

Ok, are we really discussing what touched a touchscreen that was not in a stable position at the time that caused you to crash? This is going to go nowhere fast filled with tons of speculation. Bottom line, put it on a table or hold it in your hands. There’s no answer in this thread that will ever be sufficient since none of us other than you were there.

@Matt_Masiello - black space is related to straining device resources. Either network, graphics, etc.
