United Orders 7 More Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners

More specifically, they confirmed orders for seven Boeing 787-10.

Today in United’s SEC Filings, they stated that sometime in the first quarter of 2020, they exercised options for the purchase of seven new Boeing 787 aircraft. These aircraft will be delivered in 2021.

These appear to be 7 more 787-10s, which will bring United’s total 787-10 fleet count up to 21 aircraft.

Going forward, the Boeing 787 will be United Airlines’ workhorse for the long-haul fleet as the 777’s usage will decline because of this crisis.

From what it looks like, these 787-10 orders were confirmed in early March 2020, before this crisis truly hit the aviation industry. United Airlines continues to take delivery of its Boeing 787 aircraft as it recently took delivery of three in April.

Strange decision, given the current circumstances

Where will they be based?

They most likely got a discount for adding those orders. United can always defer their orders depending on their needs and that of the industry.

The aviation industry will bounce back, smart move by United

I flew United’s 787 to Singapore, The seat and interior were very nice but the service needs to improve

Beautiful aircraft! Love United Airlines and their fleet!

Yay!! I like the B787-10 in the United Livery!

Everything’s in flux now. Just a few days ago they announced they’re closing the 787/777 base in LAX so probably not there. EWR sounds likely.
