Hmm this certainly came late as many people had complained of not being able to settle in. Certainly a lot space wasted by excessive pillows and mattresses. I don’t know why it took them long to realize the defect. More on it here:
Why would United be cutting amenities, shouldn’t they be working in making their customers more happy instead of less. Especially with all this bad publicity they are getting.
I have no idea. Just ask the person who made this decision.

I see you didn’t read the article. Sometimes, less is more. Especially for business travellers who need space to work.
I’ve flown with them once. That was back in 2014 I think. Now that all this recent stuff has happened, it makes me question whether I’ll ever book with them again…

Did you read the article? It clearly said that event the customers thought they had a lot of amenities such as 3 pillows for one one person bed. And veen then you could request more gel pillows and a comfy pad. If anything, it was wise of them to cut down as people were stealing all the amenities so they were losing money.
I’m not bothered about this news, I’d be happy enough on United if I actually got my seat…
I mean, it’s sad that they have to cut it, but overall it doesn’t make a huge difference. Unless you just fly somewhere to go on the plane this doesn’t account for you, but the whole point of going on a plane is to go from point A to B. It’s a great enough experience to fly anyway. It’s still a privileged to fly.
People complain one way or another. The amenities were there to give comfort. People could just move them. But cutting them down won’t really make anything different. I fly with them but on Standby. This is not a huge thing.
Hopefully one day I can stop saying this, but read the article. They are cutting back from three pillows to two in Polaris, with another available upon request. For those saying “my god, they are the worst airline” it just shows how quick you are to make assumptions. This move is on passenger request, not them being a bad company, which they are not. Please read next time.
United stil is my favorite airline.
