United Airlines 777-222 San Francisco to Newark

Yes, I know the registration in-game belongs to a 777-222ER. However, there’s still a few United Triple 7s in the 2010s post-Continental merger livery, and none in the Battleship Gray, of which the one in-game actually is a non-ER 777-200.

Server: Solo
Airline: United Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 777-222
Origin: San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, California (SFO)
Destination: Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, New Jersey (EWR)
Flight Number: UA366
Route: KSFO-KEWR
Seat: 4L (Domestic First)
Time En Route: 4 Hours 49 Minutes

Among the many flights operated daily between United’s West Coast fortress hub at San Francisco and one of its two East Coast hubs at Newark are quite a few operated by widebody aircraft, usually either jets being repositioned from transatlantic flying to transpacific, or, as in our case tonight, one of United’s high-density, non-ER 777-200s. These jets have the most seats in the United fleet, with 364 divided between Domestic First and Economy. Here we are boarding on a rainy night in San Francisco, with the atmospheric river from that bomb cyclone pounding the Bay.

Taxiing out for a rare Runway 10 departure

Being seated forward of the engines means we get to hear what a wet PW4000-powered departure sounds like

Climbing through the goo near San Carlos

Leaving the Bay

Out of the heavy weather east of the Sierras

Beginning our descent just after dawn

Sun coming up, gear going down

Landing in Newark after less than 5 hours in the air due to strong tailwinds

UA 366 cancelled last night irl — However, the severely delayed UA 2166, also a B772, departed about the same time.

Thanks for sharing the photos and keeping the IF(tm) UA366 on-schedule 😅

Lately, they’ve been running three 772’s daily between EWR/SFO with one or two 789’s in the mix.

Oh it’s definitely being used. I do my research on who’s flying what, where.
