Replicating my journey home from San Francisco on 12/20/2024. I’ll be uploading the videos of the actual departure and arrival to my YouTube channel soon. Happy New Year, y’all!

Sitting at Gate D9 on a rainy night in San Francisco. Due to the holiday rush, some of United’s flights have to use the D Gates, sharing them with Alaska, WestJet, and Air Canada
Boarding and sitting down in our Economy Plus seat just forward of the leading edge of the wing
Waiting to take off using the NIITE4 departure. Normally, Runways 1L and 1R are not used after a certain time at night to abate aircraft noise in surrounding neighborhoods as much as possible, but due to the winds tonight traffic follows a similar path to the daytime.
Taking off as rain spatters against the window
At our cruising altitude and settling back for a couple hours of sleep
BNA is visible after being woken up by the announcement that we’re starting our final descent into Nashville. In reality, I didn’t sleep a wink on this flight, meaning that once the time change was factored in I was up for the better part of 20 hours straight.
Touching down and decelerating on 2L past the FedEx facility, normally packed with 757-200Fs and A300-600RFs, and the end of Runway 31, which is currently closed for repairs
Taxiing over to Concourse A
Deplaning at Gate A8 on a cold, windy morning in Nashville
