During the recent hub event at KSEA Seattle, I heard something pretty interesting. A pilot with the callsign “Condor” used a voice that was very different from the standard voices available in the game.
Curious about how this could be, I tested the voice options by adjusting the pitch up and down, but none of the voices matched what I had heard from this pilot.
This got me wondering:
Is there a way for pilots to use custom voice settings or mods outside of the game’s default options?
Could it have been a glitch, or is there another explanation?
Either a) it was a glitch, or b) you can (at least, if you have an iOS device, unsure about others) change certain voices and readable text in the accessibility settings of your device, and one of those settings may be changed on your device.
For instance, although I don’t have any voices changed, I have it changed so that whenever someone on IF says “Unicom,” my speakers instead play “Traffic,” as it’s more accurate where I live.
Those are my two best guesses for what this is, more of an emphasis on it likely being a glitch.
There is a unique Aussie voice I hear going around. I don’t know how people are getting it, and this voice coming across my device yet no system changes.
I have heard from @Aussie_1435 that you can download more voices which is Lee, Kate and Tom, all you need to do is go to Accessibility then spoken content, the press voice then you can download some.
Don’t get premium and enhanced ones since they won’t work
