Airport: Arturo Merino Benitez “SCEL”
that’s used for firefighter training
Ah, I hadn’t noticed xd, but to be honest, it’s like half MD-10 and half B747.
I belive it’s like that to train in different situations, like tail-mounted engines and two floors.
Presenting the all new MD747.
You know what, I think you are right @Madison and @Variable , I am already thinking that it is used for firefighter training, and I thought it was a plane under construction that was later cancelled due to different issues, I still thank you for your corrections friends! ;)
I live near jfk, and I had a friend who worked at the northern fire station who once took me to work with him. It was a cool day in terms of spotting, and the different POV of the airport, being literally in between 22L and 22R, but also, the fire trucks were cool. They also had more than one of those training planes that they would light up. He even let me control the foam hose throttle pointer thingy lol- we sprayed the highway, and it was so cool hearing him talk to tower about where he can go.
I saw it right now on cape town airport as well
This is used for ARFF (aircraft rescue firefighting) training by airport fire departments. It is a prop used to simulated engine fires, cabin fires, aircraft searches, etc.
they should remodel it, to me, it seems kinda ugly 🤢 —>🤮
this at least looks better ✨
… no, not as good as ✨
Here is a pic of the one at JFK. At least your able to tell the green one is plane… this thing just bunch of shapes lol- btw this only one of the two ones they have
It’s for training
MD-12 has joined the chat
(I mean it’s more like an A380 but close enough)
it is a MD747SP
pretty cool seeing it parked while departing BWI
side story: they did fire training and it looked very confusing from our plane
