Indeed. The big blocks are your aiming point but as long as you are so where in the touch down zone that’s fine.

Very helpful. I always try to aim for the “aiming points” (aptly named, apparently).
Someone once said that a firm landing in the touchdown zone is much better than a pillow soft landing further down the runway, regardless of what the cabin crew says.
That happened to me when controlling PG. I told someone to cancel takeoff clearance, but proceeded with taking off. Plane on final didn’t go around, so you can guess the rest of the story.
