For the past couple of days, whenever I try to land a plane in Live, the screen freezes, I just wasted 2h trying to land a plane, which is freezing at the worst times. This earlier used to happen a year ago too if i remember correctly, back then the fix was to turn off the low power mode, did that and yet the screen freezes randomly at a point of arrival. This has happened 4/5 times i have tried landing a plane in live.
This has yet happened right now with another live flight. Tried departing and the game froze, so much so, when I pressed my power button, my screen stayed on with the frozen screen for 2 seconds before a delayed turn off on my screen.
I tried flying on normal too, the app froze during taxi.
Sad to see the freezing carried over into stable version. 2 weeks ago my live flight froze at LEMD right before turning into the gate after landing, while I was zooming in mini-map.
I loaded up the last save state and landed, using a remote spot right off the runway as a “checkpoint” then continued taxi to terminal. Made sure not to “upset” the app by avoiding mini map, camera movements, and minimal use of cockpit mode.
This has also happened twice in the past to me at ZSPD. Couldn’t deal with another flight freezing, which like you mentioned, happens at the airport environment…which I guess makes sense given more things are being processed there.
It was enough for me to take a break from IF for a couple weeks though.
I’ve experienced the same issue described by the people above several times on free flight; in my case, the sim force closed after i landed and was taxiing to gate on busy controlled airports. At other airports, the sim starts stuttering during the final approach phase, so to prevent a crash, I avoid performing “actions” that I suspect might trigger one. Additionally, I always freeze other background apps whenever I want to launch the sim. I tried lower the rendering and graphics but the stutter won’t go away.

yes, this has happened in non live too. I was flying in expert in non live and it froze while i was taxing. No this is not because of old device or playing on high graphics and device freezing and crashing or device storage being full. It just works on 60fps till it decides to freeze.
yet again today I was selecting the ATC option in the menu and it froze, I pressed my power button, took 2 seconds and then it turned off. Happens with no other apps, just this.
Your issue is different imo, it freezes because the game isn’t able to run the way it wants due to your device. With heavy traffic in airports it is more obvious, the phone doesn’t have the enough processing power to process all the planes, objects, models at once smoothly, hence it freezes, followed by an app crash. In my case the app doesnt even crash, it just freezes.
I noticed all my freeze+crashes happened during inputs on the screen. For example, swinging the camera in cockpit mode, or zooming in on mini map. I haven’t experienced freeze+crash if I’m not touching screen.
edit: In my experiences my app doesn’t crash either. It just freezes and I have to force exit.
This time it is a bit different. The app froze, but I was able to swipe up my device’s control bar and exit the app, before this I wasn’t able to do any of that.
I haven’t tried reinstalling yet, no my device isn’t warm any time, every time it has happened after the update it is right within the 2-5min window after resuming my flight. Haven’t tried it in solo.
Update, the app froze back to back. I just entered into a flight on ground in live, and the app froze. Restarted the app and the app froze on the infinite flight screen.
Was climbing and it froze again.
