Unable To Communicate

Device: iPad Pro (3rd Gen)
Operating system: iPadOS 17.5.1
Possible cause: I am flying on mobile data because my home wi-fi is terrible (I usually live away from home at college where the wi-fi is fine). I’ve never had issues with data before and it is working fine in all other contexts. Is data not going ti be fast enough? I might just have to wait until I go back to college I suppose.

I keep having the same issue for about a month now. ATC isn’t able to hear my messages. It’s making it impossible to fly online.

I have tried so many flights now, and they keep getting ended because I either never get pushback approval, or if there was no ATC at departure but is on arrival, mthe APP controller can’t hear me.

I just tried to get into Sydney

There were two APP controllers, but ATIS didn’t say which to contact yet, so I went with one of them (I’ll call them APP1). I requested an ILS to no response. A few minutes later I got onguarded by the other (APP2). I switched and requested the ILS, again to no response. APP2 just kept sending on guard messages, to each I replied with an ILS request. Yes, I checked I was definitely sending my requests to the correct controller. I left the session as I was about to fly directly overhead the field and didn’t want to get in the way without two-way comms.

I also had a time where there was no approach controller at EGLL, so I contacted tower who gave me landing clearance and a vacate, but when I contacted ground (the same person) I just kept getting on guards. Apparently to them I was just sat on tower not doing anything.
