RWY usage 20R and 20L for departure and landing

Feedback from: General 575

Ground:

  • Taxi to runway: ✅

  • Taxi to parking: ✅

Tower:

  • Takeoff / make ___ traffic: 🟨

  • Cleared for the option: 🟨

  • Pattern Instructions: 🟨

  • Sequencing: ❌

  • Exit runway at 70kts: ❌

Other Feedback:

  • The progressive taxi instructions you we’re giving @TruKnight were not really necessary. Usually those should only be used for extremely heavy traffic situations

  • I went from Ground to Tower on purpose because that is what I’m supposed to do, you usually don’t need to give a handoff.

  • Right traffic would have been better for everyone so that way we wouldn’t collide into mountains

  • The translation for @J-F_V should have been at around 3000 or 3500 I believe. 2000 would be too low.

  • You said “Enter right downwind” even though I was already on that, I think you meant “Right base,” that can really confuse pilots that are flying

  • You should not have had that aircraft line up when I was on final and had me go around. If he was disobeying instructions and entered the runway without permission then that would have been ok to issue a go around.

  • I didn’t receive a second clearance to land after the go around, you must give a clearance every single time.

  • You must issue an “Exit Runway” when you know the aircraft is landing. Usually aim for around 80-70 kts when to send that message.

I would give the ATC manual a look. Tag me next time

Ok I will focus on that the next time.

Thanks for stopping by @Butter575

These are some of the same issues I had. Also the airport elevation was 776 ft so transition for @J-F_V should have been approved at 3500 ft. Best way to calculate is Airport Elevation+Pattern ALT+Vertical Separation = Transition ALT

776+1500+1000 = 3276

Then round up to nearest 500 ft

3500

Hello There…

Feedbacks from CF-JFV

1st inbound - Transition

🟡 [01:28:58] Transition was waaaaaayyyyy too low…

Transition is a safe altitude for a plane to travel your airspace…

KBUR Patterns: Alt 775 ft

Propeller pattern alt: 1000’ AGL → 775 + 1000 = 1800’
Jets pattern alt: 1500’ AGL → 775 + 1500 = 2300

Transition should insure at least 1000’ with your higher pattern…so AGL + 2500’.

Knowing that, your 2000’ transition was between props and jets, with not even 500’ between both…worst place you wanna be in transition 😉

So transition formula is: Airport elevation + 2500, the result will be rounded UP to the nearest 500’

KBUR: 775 + 2500 = 3300 rounded up = 3500

🟡 [01:30:33] On inbound request, you cleared me #2

Every inbound should receive:

❗️ Where to go and how (a pattern entry)
❗️ When to go (a sequence)
✅ And if he can use the runway (clearance)

When on option…the clearance should include a direction to take after (only the first time if many touch n’ goes)

Second pattern…

🟡 You gave me no sequence nor clearance before I was very hight and on base (to give me a slowest practical…I was very high outside your airspace…)

Second inbound

🟡 Same issue as before…you cleared me but with no pattern entry…

Can’t wait your next opening…

Thanks for this nice gig and the service! Good luck on your journey!

Other Feedback

  • I didn’t get a single cleared to land/option which you must issue every time
  • When I was on final on the first time, @J-F_V and I were way too close to each other. Some sort of separation command probably should have happened
  • I saw you sequence @Eugene_Leybovich for #3 on 15 but there was only one other aircraft ahead of them landing on 15 (@J-F_V) so it should have been #2
  • No exit runway command. You must always send it when you know a plane will be landing on full stop. A little tip is to try to send it between 90-70 kts

Feedback G-EUGE:

  • i didnt get a pattern entry when calling inbound. Just a sequence and a clearance. You should always provide a pattern entry for all inbound aircraft
  • on the second pattern you gave me a sequence and a clearance for a different runway. Whenever there is a runway change you need to issue a pattern entrance and sequence before clearing
  • Delta could have taken off before I landed … on base at 6nm is plenty of time
  • not sure why a go around command was given after I took off…

Keep practicing, you’ll get there just takes time to get used to process

Cheers
Eugene

Feedback G-EUGE:

  • unnecessary to give traffic direction after initial takeoff clearance with direction. So you said “cleared for TO, make right traffic”… When you clear me to land you can just say “clear for the option RWY X”, I am expected to keep the same pattern direction (unless I request to switch after takeoff)
  • not sure why you gave me a pattern entrance after clearing me for the option
  • VT-ALJ never received a pattern entry… you just cleared him as #2 right away. You have to issue a pattern entry for all inbound aircraft and all aircraft that are switching runways
  • 2nd pattern, again pattern entry is not necessary here since I’m already doing patterns and have the traffic direction
  • Big A 69 … no pattern entry when they first called inbound. You have to issue a pattern.
  • You gave Big A an exit RWY command while they were on final. That instruction should have been sent to me since I was the one that landed. Probably just an oversight
  • 3rd Pattern - again, there is not need to give a pattern entrance after you already cleared me for the option.

Do you have Discord?

Thanks,
Eugene

Yea I’m streaming rn on the IF server in discord lol

Why are u not IFATC yet?! You seem over qualified with these comments

Hey N705AR here couple things to note here

  1. When i requested for takeoff remaining in the pattern, you cleared me for take off with no traffic direction ( N705AR cleared for take off runway 15, make right/left traffic). If you dont clear me to takeoff with a pattern direction then you need to give me a pattern entry. (I.e. N705AR enter left downwind runway 15)

  2. When reported that i was inbound for touch and gos, you cleared me to land instead of the option, the correct thing to do is to clear me for the option as that clears me to either land, touch and go or low pass.

  3. After i was cleared to land i was instructed to turn left base. There is no need to give me pattern entry when im already cleared to land.

  4. Once i landed exit runway command was given way late (exit runway command should be given to jets at around 60-70kts)

  5. On 2nd takeoff request i was again cleared with no traffic entry, as i was never given a pattern direction which is why i requested departure
